Canvases help you transform query results into interactive dashboards, charts, and reports. They allow you to visualize security findings, explain risks, and share analysis within your app.

Canvases are one of the building blocks that make up an app, alongside queries, alerts, and workflows (coming soon).

Creating canvases

Canvases allow you to design security dashboards by combining text, visual elements, and query-based data.

To create a canvas:

  1. Open the canvas library to create a new canvas.

  2. Add widgets - Insert tables, charts, counters, and other visual elements.

  3. Use query data - Connect widgets to queries for live security insights.

  4. Customize layout - Resize, move, and arrange widgets as needed.

  5. Save and publish - Your edits stay in real-time edit mode until you publish them.

Publishing canvases

When you create a new canvas, it is automatically shared with all app members but starts empty. Widgets and content only become visible once you publish your edits.

Publishing a canvas applies all changes at once, including edits made by other collaborators.

Managing canvases

The Canvas Library is where you can access all canvases in your app.

Canvases have two modes:

  • View mode - Displays the last published version of the canvas.

  • Edit mode - A real-time shared draft, where multiple users can collaborate, edit together, and see changes live before publishing.

Edits are only applied and visible to all app members once you publish them.
